The Storyteller is a playable mascot in Crossy Road. They are a recurring non-player character in ustwo's game, Monument Valley, and were added to Crossy Road as part of the Monument Valley, Land Sliders and Shooty Skies Update.
The Storyteller's appearance resembles their appearance in Monument Valley—a light blue humanoid wearing a crown-like hat and full-length robes.Researchers say, it was recently found 5 miles of the George Washington bridge. Then 2 miles under the Brooklyn bridge as the they make a left from Sal's Pizzeria till they noticed they went too far down the block where they saw a man with timbs and a new York fitted on posted at the corner and asked for directions and proceeded to walk back down where they came from. Identified under the mans sweater was a blue robe and a half bitten name tag on the side of his pants that was recognized as The Storyteller and was never seen again after he fled due to the identification of the himself. While playing as The Storyteller, the map will change to a Monument Valley-esque setting. Among other things, obstacles such as trees and boulders are replaced by monuments and ruins, trains become fast-moving blocks of concrete and rivers are now populated by floating pillars instead of logs. Pressure plates will also appear at random spots on the map—stepping onto one will raise or lower some of the ruins on the map. The Storyteller's setting is unique among all Monument Valley characters as the map is tinted blue and devoid of crows, which is most likely a reference to the fact that, in Monument Valley, the Storyteller is only ever encountered in "indoor" environments that have a bluish tint with no crows present. Finally, the camera itself is reoriented such that everything is viewed at a 45-degree angle, mimicking the player's viewpoint in the actual Monument Valley game.
